CALNE Silver Band is celebrating three quarters of a century of musical history this month.
The band, which has nearly 30 members, is a real family affair with five married couples and several father and son duos.
Conductor Keith Webb, 44, of Heron Close, said: "People come and go but there is always a strong core of people left and I think that is why we've kept going."
Band secretary Brian Hunt said: "The band still maintains a strong musical position in the community, which in these modern, busy times, is no mean feat.
"We remain active both in competition and concert engagements thanks mainly to the dedicated membership of our players, both young and old, and the support of the people of Calne over the past years."
Band members practise twice a week at the Free Church.
To celebrate the 75th anniversary there will be a massed bands concert at John Bentley School on Saturday, which will also featured The Corsham Kennet Vale bands.
It starts at 7.30pm and tickets are £5 and £3.50 for concessions. They are available from Trotmans, Bank House or on the door on the night.
Anyone interested in joining the band can contact Mr Webb on (01249) 813012.
