DANCERS of all ages performed to packed audiences at the weekend in the biggest music and dance concert ever staged in Minety.
The concert, called Minety Dance in the Spotlight, featured 96 pupils from Minety Dance School, which was set up last April by villager and professional dancer, Deborah Evans, 29.
Mrs Evans said her pupils' ages ranged from two-and-a-half to fifty-plus.
Describing the concert as a dance extravaganza, she said: "It went really well. We sold out every night. About 320 people came to see the concert, and we could have squeezed in even more if it had not been for the village hall's fire and safety regulations."
She said the show was attended by people from across the Malmesbury area, who enjoyed the opportunity of seeing professional standards of music and dance without having to travel to the larger cities.
The concert featured various forms of movement, including classical ballet, tap, jazz and modern dance, and flute, piano and saxophone performances.
Mrs Evans said villagers had asked her to make the concert an annual event. "There is such an interest in dance in the rural area. The concert had the village buzzing for weeks."
