FOUR Pewsey and Marlborough fire fighters have scaled the three highest peaks in Britain and raised more than £2,600 in sponsorship for meningitis research.
On Friday at Pewsey Fire Station, father and son Mervyn and Jason Hampshire from Pewsey, Ernie Warren from Marlborough, and Nick Warren from Ramsbury, handed over the money to the meningitis charity.
They were joined for the presentation by two former Pewsey fire fighters, Roy Wiltshire and Micky Saunders who were their drivers for the Three Peaks run in June.
This year's challenge was completed in a best ever time of just over 21 hours.
It was the third time that Pewsey fire station has put a team in the gruelling race to the summits of Snowdon, Ben Nevis and Scafell.
