REGULARS at the Golden Swan in Wilcot took part in the pub's Conker Bonkers contest and raised £100 for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
It was the fourth annual contest and June Weeks, who runs the pub with her husband Terry, said it attracted one of the best turn outs.
contestants turned up in fancy dress and organisers Howard Prowse and Danny Smith, who are both regulars at the pub, were delighted with the response.
A couple of dozen supporters forsook their usual Sunday lunchtime outfits for St Trinians' costumes and Bermuda shorts one even dressed as a school dinner lady.
Bar helper Denise Hull joined in the fun by dressing as a school teacher, complete with mortar-board and cane.
Mr Prowse, a builder, said the event started after someone suggested it would a good idea to have a conker fight.
"We decided to raise some money for the air ambulance and it has become an annual event at the pub," he said.
To avoid any possibility of conkers being unfairly hardened Mr and Mrs Weeks provided them from a local horse chestnut tree.
The contest was on a knock-out basis and winner Brian Pett was presented with a bottle of champagne by the pub.
