Animal lovers were able to convert Tiddles and Rex into cyber-pets in a microchipping day organised by the Swindon and District Support Group of the RSPCA.
It is the third time the group has organised the scheme which provides a quick and easy way of identifying pets following the overwhelming success of previous events.
The first was held last December and was so popular that organisers ran out of microchips.
Another session was held in February and following Saturday's event at Toothill Community Centre, to which about 90 pets were taken, a total of around 430 cats and dogs have now been implanted with the chips.
The chips are painlessly inserted in the scruff of the neck and each has a unique number, which is held on a national database, accessible by vets, dog wardens, RSPCA inspectors and animal centres.
The charge to owners was £12.50 and all profits went towards Swindon RSPCA to help animals in the Swindon area.
Debbie Shepherd, a member of the group, said: "We have been overwhelmed by the success of the initiatives. It is reassuring that people are taking such a responsible attitude with their pets."
The next sessions are hoped to be held in East Swindon next spring.
