Boatloads of cash
ON September 30 the Chippenham Branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution held its annual flag day in Chippenham High Street.
I wish to thank all the generous people whose donations, amounted £697.64.
This figure, coupled with equally generous donations from customers visiting the supermarkets in Chippenham and Calne, and those made by householders at their doors in the towns and the villages, has set the branch on track to reach the magic figure of £5,000 for its final collection of the 20th century.
My thanks again, not only to all who gave so generously, but to all those who gave up their time, not always in the best of weather, to collect for the lifeboat crews. They don't always give up their time in the best of weather, either.
