A sincere thank you to everyone who contributed to the great success of the Eddie Cochran Rock 'n' Roll festival in Chippenham.
Special mention must go to organisers John and Sheila Knight, Stuart Harvey and Peter Jamieson, members of the enthusiastic team responsible for the four days of tremendous music.
There were exuberant performances from The Comets (USA), Bobby Cochran (USA), Vince Eager, Darrel Higham, Marco di Maggio (Italy), Tony Sheridan (Germany), Pipeline 61 (Holland) and the six support bands.
Visitors from this country and abroad appreciated the warm welcome given to them by accommodation providers, retailers and the community.
The festive lights provided by the town council, the dedication service conducted by "Witness" and the American and British classic car and bike cruise added to the 60s celebration.
With the support of North Wiltshire District Council the festival continues to be Britain's top Rock 'n' Roll weekend and plans are already under way for the 2001 festival which will be held from September 27 to 30.
If anyone would like to join us in making preparations for next year's festival please contact (01249)656350.
