Three Swindon DJs have set up their own Hard House night and it is taking Bristol by storm.
Havoc is the brainchild of DJ Crocks, (Gareth Crockett, pictured) DJ Nujack (Adam Thomas) and DJ Jonef (Jon Ford).
All three have played most of the clubs in Swindon including the Brunel Rooms in Havelock Square. DJ Crocks and DJ Nujack still have a residency at the club and also a regular night at Fusion in Old Town.
"We decided to do something off our own backs in a freestyle of music,'' said Gareth.
Most clubs have a music style and in Swindon it is mainly UK garage, chart and club classics.
The DJs wanted to specialise in Hard House music and so Havoc was born but they could not find a venue in their home town so settled for a monthly night, soon to become fortnightly, at The Maze, formerly Club Loco in Hepburn Road, Stokescroft, Bristol.
"We tested the water in September with our Swindon DJs and we had an amazing turn out of around 400 and that was going up against the petrol crisis,'' said gareth.
This time the DJs are hoping to pull in the students who are back at college. The next Havoc night is Saturday, October 14 at the Maze and the DJs already have three coaches going from Swindon.
The three DJs will play their freestyle Hard House downstairs in the basement with guest DJs Lee Jay, a resident at the Brunel Rooms, and Little Miss Large from Birmingham and MC Rude. Upstairs there will be funky house and club classics.
"But our true love is Hard House, said Gareth. "The Maze is in an old Victorian house owned by the mayor of Bristol. We have four rooms including a chill out room and juice bar.''
Between them the DJs have 26 years experience under their belts and are currently dabbling in music production and plan to have a weekly night at different clubs in and around Swindon. The DJs also have their own website: www.banginghardhouse.comThe Christmas Cracker Havoc will have top Dj Nick Raffety playing.
