A Bath skate shop that introduced the first scooters into the city has scored another first by launching an updated model, the Micro Scooter, this week.
Route One in Broad Street bought the scooter craze to Bath earlier this year by supplying the basic quality scooter, used by commuters and children.
The specialists in skateboarding equipment and clothing quickly recalled the cheaper model of scooter first sold, following incidents where several children got their fingers trapped.
Scooters sold in the shop today are chosen for the rider's safety and the new micro scooter has desirable differences.
Coloured grips, flashing back lights and a wheely bar footrest contribute to the appeal of the new model. The extras may be used to impress your mates, but this model has a good safety record.
Whether this nippy mode of transport will pass like other fads remains to be seen.
