Devizes Sunday LeagueDEVIZES Snooker Club battled to the end in their game against Imber United, but it just wasn't good enough, with Imber outplaying and outclassing them.

Leading 7-0 at half-time, Imber came back out to score another seven goals in the second half.

The Snooker Club did manage to pressure Imber's defence twice but failed to finish.

Steve Solan, Alec McGlone and Ross Curler all scored hat-tricks and Jimmy Wilson, Pete Rooney and Marc Adderson gained a goal apiece. Imber's final two goals came from Russ Haffenden, who scored both from corners.

Selectabook maintained their unbeaten run by beating the Dolphin 8-0. Selectabook kept the Dolphin on the back foot throughout the first half without breaking a sweat, and any attacks the Dolphin made were handled easily.

Selectabook came out in the second half leading 5-0, but could not break the Dolphins' defence for 25 minutes. Selectabook's pressure paid off in the second half with another three goals for an 8-0 win. Selectabook's scorers were G Hopper, P Machin (3), A Davies, A Coombes, J Elderidge and N Taylor.

The Greyhound gained their first win of the season in a close game against the Bell on the Green.

Rich Eddy opened the scoring in the first minute for the Greyhound, but six minutes later Lee Saunders scored a cracking goal from open play to equalise for the Bell. Dean Potter scored for the Bell a minute later to which Mike Eddy of the Greyhound replied, slotting home from 10 yards.

Lee Saunders scored his second on 23 minutes with a long range shot which went over the goalkeeper's head. Greyhound came straight back from the kick off, with Mike Eddy scoring from a penalty awarded for hand ball to make it 3-3. Bob Young of the Bell and Rich Eddy both scored before the whistle to make it 4-4 at half-time.

Two minutes into the second half Paul Waddington managed to get a toe to the ball in a goalmouth scramble to give the Greyhound the lead.

Gareth Simmonds made a well-timed run and cracked the ball in the back of the net to give Greyhound a 6-4 lead before Paul Mason headed in the Bell's final goal.

Black Horse opened the scoring against Trowbridge Wanderers after three minutes when Mark Valderey made the most of poor defending to find the back of the net.

Wanderers' goalkeeper Scott Carrick made a terrific save from a penalty to keep the score 1-0 after 20 minutes, but it only took another 10 minutes before Gary Campbell fired a shot into the top left corner to make it 2-0.

Black Horse scored again on 37 minutes with Lee Campbell yet again taking advantage of poor defending to make it 3-0 at half-time.

Kevin Marlen completed the scoring in the 43rd minute to make it 4-0.
