PREMIER Division leaders Cricklade kept up their recent impressive form with a 5-0 home victory over Warminster Town Reserves to go three points clear at the top of the table.
The visitors shaded the opening 25 minutes, but on the half hour Ian Ross hit a powerful low drive into the net to give Cricklade an interval lead.
Two minutes after the restart Dave Kearley converted a penalty and Ian Ross added a third with a good solo effort shortly after.
A good move involving several players ended with Steve Avenell getting a good cross in for Darren King to volley in from eight yards and two minutes later Avenell pulled another good ball back from the by line for Steve Willie to add a fifth.
Second in the table Biddestone came unstuck at Shrewton, the home side winning an exciting game 3-2, thanks to goals from Stuart Mulford, Jessie Walters and Sean Collins. James Lye and Ben Moore were on target for Biddestone.
Aldbourne, who were trounced 9-0 nil by Cricklade Town last week, bounced back with a 2-1 away win over Corsham Town Reserves. Russell Hunt and Danny Mason were on target for Aldbourne and Frank Rogers replied for the home side.
Chiseldon Southbrook produced one of their better performances to beat the well supported Trowbridge Town side 4-2. On top for most of the game, a sparkling hat trick from Stuart Phillips and a goal from Richard Bull gave the home side a 4-0 lead, Chris Tricker scoring twice for Trowbridge in the closing stages.
Purton Reserves picked up a useful three points with a 3-2 away win over Malmesbury Vics Reserves, Chris Green, Paul Blanchard and Johnny Coole on target for the visitors and Reg Vizard netting twice for the Vics.
In the Addkey Senior Cup, Devizes Town Reserves gained a first round victory over Westbury United Reserves by 5-1. Danny Maslin, Colin Yates, Chris Jones, Tony Kelly and John Burns were the Devizes scorers, with Andy Mayer scoring a consolation goal for United.
In the second round ties Bradford Town beat Marlborough Town 3-0 to complete a league and cup double in successive weeks.
Wroughton beat Pewsey Vale Reserves 3-0, Justin Webster, Fred Bentos and Mark Croyden the scorers and Ashley Channing missing a penalty.
In the Intermediate Division leaders Burmah Castrol gained a 3-0 away success over Biddestone Reserves, Nick Camden, Paul and Chris O'Connell the scorers.
Wanborough United chalked up a 4-2 away win over Mitel, thanks to goals from Martin Groundsell, Stuart Murphy, Pete Stradling and Gareth Hunking, and Stratton Crosslink Reserves trounced Cricklade Town Reserves 8-0.
