HOMES along the River Avon were put on flood watch this week.
Homeowners in Melksham and Bradford on Avon were warned on Tuesday morning (October 10) that if conditions deteriorated and the water levels rose much more they should make preparations for possible floods.
Environment Agency spokesman Ben Woodhouse said people should be prepared to move valuable and irreplaceable items to the first floor.
The area was stepped down from flood watch level later on Tuesday afternoon.
