Melksham Farmers' Market could be finished unless people support it.
The market was launched last spring and was a popular monthly event.
In recent months, attendance has dropped to the point where many of the farm producers are not making any money and are now threatening to pull out.
Keith Goverd, from the Wiltshire Farmers' Market Association, said: "It is with regret that we are having to consider the future of the market, but we are just not getting the numbers along to make it worthwhile, and our livelihoods are at stake."
The lack of interest in the farmers' market mirrors lack of support for the weekly Tuesday market.
Peter Dunford, West Wiltshire District Council's economic development officer, said one final push was being made before the farmers came to a decision.
"It was a great success when the market was first launched. I wonder if people in Melksham have forgotten about it," said Mr Dunford.
The farmers market is held in the car park of the Riverside Centre off Bath Road. Alternative sites, including the Market Place have been tried without success.
Talks are also being held with town action group Melksham First over the future of the Tuesday market.
Friday, October 13, there were only half a dozen stalls in the market Place. "It was, like the farmers' market, very popular, but again in recent months interest has dropped off," said Mr Dunford.
