I am writing to express my views on the legalisation of cannabis.
The main problem is that it is grouped together with much more harmful substances which automatically gives it a much worse image.
If people bothered to research the subject they would see that it also has many benefits.
They say that if cannabis was made legal then other drugs would become more popular. I believe that the opposite would happen.
If cannabis became available in licensed places with laws restricting its use (much the same as alcohol) it would cut down the number of people coming into contact with drug dealers and harsher drugs.
If you take a look at places where cannabis has been made available (ie, Amsterdam) then you would see that these places have massive amounts of tourists who generate money for the local government.
If cannabis was made available legally the government would be able to charge tax on it which would generate more money for necessities, such as schools and hospitals, as well as saving the police large amounts of money and time.
