Former Wootton Bassett full-back Steve Corcoran is now playing for Bristol Under-21s.
The Irish-born Australian-raised 20-year-old starred for Bassett and Wiltshire last season and he has now been snapped up by the West Country giants.
Corcoran, who lives in Bassett and works for Zurich Financial Services, is also playing with the Ireland Under-21 squad.
He has been making big waves down at the Memorial Ground.
He came off the bench to score a try, set one up and have one disallowed in the 60-16 defeat of Saracens and also starred in the recent victories over Swansea and Wasps.
His performances have been rewarded with a place in the starting line-up against University champions Northumberland today.
He has made an appearance as a replacement for Ireland and things are coming together nicely for him.
Corcoran played at youth level with Super 12 side ACT Brumbies, where he trained alongside such luminaries as World Cup-winning half-back pair George Gregan and Stephen Larkham.
He was a pupil at Erindale College, a feeder school for the Australian Institute for Sport, and then went to play for Blackrock College in Dublin.
"I just came to the Northern Hemisphere for a year off Uni," he said. "I never really settled in Dublin and I had friends over here.
"I came to Wootton Bassett about 18 months ago and I have stayed ever since."
He was spotted by Bristol while playing for Bassett last season and was invited for a trail by Under-21s coach Paul Hull, the former England full-back.
Corcoran, who can also play at fly-half, knows it will be difficult to establish himself at Bristol.
He said: "They won the Under-21s competition last year, so it will be tricky to break into the side.
"We are top of the league at the moment with nine wins out of nine.
"I am definitely going to stay here for at least two years. I like living in Wootton Bassett. I am looking to go to Bristol University to study Sports Science.
"My aim is to get in the second team this season and push for the first team next season.
"But I have to cement my place in the Under-21s first.
"I am also aiming to play in the Six Nations Championship in for Ireland Under-21s in February.
"The last six months have just been a whirlwind for me."
