Wilts League: Cricklade Town and Biddestone continue to set the pace in the Premier Division.

Cricklade away to Pewsey Vale Reserves brought their total of goals to 20 from their last three games when they beat the home side by 6-0.

Cricklade started in a whirlwind fashion netting three times in the first ten minutes. Pete York's cross deceiving the home keeper after four minutes. Jason Richards latching onto a long ball three minutes later and Steve Avenell pulling back a good cross for Ian Ross to score on ten minutes.

Midway through the half Richards was brought down in the box and Mick Harper added a fourth on the spot.

Cricklade continued on top after the break and Avenell added a fifth after a fumble by the home keeper. Richards completed the scoring, netting at the far post from a cross by Parker.

Bidddestone always had the edge against a gallant Marlborough Town side who never gave up battling and went a goal up through Ben Moore.

After the break James Lye added a second and Josh Jefferies a third.

Shrewton United made it seven wins from ten games after beating Aldbourne 7-1 to move into fourth spot in the table.

Aldbourne started well and took the lead through Steve Hewlett, Sean Collins equalising just before the break.

The half time cuppa worked wonders for the home side who came out and scored six second half goals, three from the penalty spot. Dean Foot (2), Chris Withers, Walters (2) and Sean Collins (2) were on target.

Wroughton, one of the most improved sides in the section, did well to beat Bradford Town 2-1.

Darren Dodds got on the end of a good cross from the left for the first and Tom Dingle converted a cross from Wayne Taylor for the second.

Lee Bromley replied for Bradford midway through the second half.

Goals from Rod Broadbank, Rick Casey and Neil Johnson gave Stratton Crosslink a 3-0 win over Corsham Town Res and Chiseldon Southbrook beat Westbury Utd Res on their own ground by 4-0. Stuart Phillips gave the Swindon side the half time lead then added the second soon after the restart. Rick Bruce made sure of victory with two more goals in the last ten minutes.

In the second round of the Addkey Senior Cup Tom Staddon scored the only goal of the game for Melksham Town Res against Purton Res and Warminster Town Res beat Malmesbury Vics Res 4-1, with John Hargreaves (2) Simon Laidlaw and David Watkins on target.

Intermediate Divison leaders Burmah Castrol gained a 6-1 away win over Crickade Town Res. Tom Mawson scored the second half hattrick, Chris O'Connell, Gary Donnelly and Nick Camden adding the other three.

Blunsdon United ran out winners by 5-4 in a nine-goal thriller against Mitel, a hat-trick from Justin Twitchett, and goals from Ken Taylor and Michael O'Sullivan doing the damage. Sean Freeman (2) Jamie Ashby and Martin Clapton scored for Mitel.

A goal from Geoff Swatton enabled a Dunbar Westside to register a 1-0 away victory over Down Ampney.

Wanborough United and Biddeston Res finished 1-1 after extra time in the first round of the Plaistow Autos Cup and will have to try again next week. Ian Huntkins scored for United and Andy Beale for Biddestone.

Yet another four goals from Wroughton Res top marksman Glenn Armstrong helped his side to a 5-2 win over Ferndale Rodbourne who led by 2-0 at one stage, both scored by Richard Saxby.

Wroughton also had their keeper sent off in the first half which made their five-goal blast after the break even more remarkable. Stuart Temple netted the other Wroughton goal.

Ashton Keynes gained a 3-1 win over bottom club West Swindon. Darren Pike, Martin Curtis and Chris Brown scoring.

A goal from Brendan Graham and a Paul Aust penalty gave Burmah Castrol Res a 2-0 win over Minety.
