District League: Swindon Asians turned the tables on Premier Division Good-heart in the first round of the Advertiser Cup.
Asians were too strong for their rivals and were well worth their 8-3 win, their goals coming from B Miah, K Miah, A Sanhopa, D Miah, R Milhorini and an hat-trick from A Ali. Goodheart's consolations came through Matt Eustice, Trevor Doyle and Tim Bohane.
PFC Shaftesbury edged a close game 3-1 against AFC Dolphin, with the PFC goals coming from Dean Parsons (2) and Mick Thomas. In the other cup tie, Nalgo Sports beat Ramsbury FC 6-1 thanks to a Micky Warlow hat-trick, and goals from Rich Clargo, Ian Berry and a 40-yd screamer from the evergreen Clive Fenwick.
In the George Thomas/Don Rogers Cup, Bulldog Rangers thrashed Westwood Contractors 10-1. Their goalscorers were Darren Bourne (2), Dean Scott (4), Neil Quinn, Dave McCullogh and Steve Rushton (2).
Moredon Gulag had to dig deep to overcome Pinehurst Community 3-2, with goals from brothers Wayne and Mark Arnold and Andy Crawford.
Queenstown beat Swindon Eagles 3-1 in a match overshadowed by a serious head injury to the Eagles keeper. The winning goals came from Rene Jepson and Chris Bailey (2).
Elsewhere, an Ian McCarthy hat-trick saw Highworth King Queen beat Wheatsheaf 3-0, and Jigsaw Group Res. had their first win of the season over Walcot Old Boys. The score was 4-3 with the Jigsaw goals from Pat Jones, Karl Alexander, Gary Webb and Mike Hart.
In the Premier, Liden gained their first victory of the season, beating Skin Graffiti 4-2. Liden scorers were Tony Law (2), Sean Cox and James Donavan. Graffiti scorers were Darren Gleed and Lee Hurd. Barron Heating and Clifton Barrons drew 3-3. Heating's goals came from Dave Heskett (2) and Darren Keely, and Clifton replied through Ian Goucher (2) and John Saunders. Windmill beat Custom Homes with strikes from Ricky Mazzota (2) and Jason Hunt.
Fusion Coleview lead Division One after beating Blyscawica. Their goals came from Martin Jones, Michael Lichota, and an Andy Wills own-goal. Jigsaw beat Shield and Dagger with Peter Keegan (3) and Kirk Ward (2) scoring.
Wroughton Juniors had another good day in the under-16's. They scored seven times, through Phil Archer, Brett Armstrong (2), Teir Harper, Mike Hathaway, Jason Smith and Ben Collier. Stratton Crosslink and Greendown drew 2-2. Stratton scored through John Magnani and Aidan Doyle. Imperial went down to a rampant Lydiard who scored through Robert Smith, Martin Eagles (5), Tom Golding (3), Danny Tompkins (3), David Topp (2), Leighton Rykowski (4) and Dave Ford (2).
In the under-15's Rodbourne beat St Josephs. Wyatt (5), Page (3), Walker, Lecotta and Brown (2) scoring.
