DRIVERS travelling into Swindon on the A361 this morning (Tuesday) faced lengthy delays following a fatal accident.
The road was closed in both directions near Devizes from 11.25pm last night and was not expected to reopen until late this morning to allow accident investigators to carry out their work.
The accident happened between Devizes and Beckhampton when a silver Porsche was in collision with a Ford Mondeo.
A 29-year-old Devizes man who was driving the Porsche was killed immediately and his two passengers, a man and a woman, were taken to Princess Margaret Hospital in Swindon with minor injuries.
The Ford Mondeo failed to stop and was later traced by police. A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with the accident.
