BATH City midfielder Jon Holloway was the toast of Twerton Park after his memorable goal set up a 3-0 win over Sutton United and a place in the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup.
City are now just one more win away from securing a place in the first round of the competition, where the possibility of a money-spinning tie with a football league second or third division side awaits.
Graham Colbourne, Holloway and substitute Scott Walker netted the goals which gave City a surprisingly comfortable win over their visitors from Surrey.
Holloway's strike in the 55th minute, which made it 2-0, was the undoubted highlight of the game.
He picked the ball up just inside the Sutton half, cut in from the left past three defenders and then cracked a low, 18-yard drive past goalkeeper Gareth Howells.
"Scoring goals is the best thing in the world and I don't get many to celebrate," he said afterwards.
"It was a brilliant feeling and the second goal is always a crucial one. We started well, which is vital for our team, and by the end it was a convincing performance from us."
Colbourne and Colin Towler had missed good chances to put City ahead before the breakthrough came in the 37th minute.
In-form Jimmy Fraser created the opening and Colbourne netted his fifth goal of the campaign from close range.
Colbourne should have scored again early in the second half, but his first touch let him down and allowed Howells to block his shot with his legs.
But Holloway struck soon afterwards, and there was no way back for Sutton once midfielder Paul Harford had been sent off in the 68th minute for flooring Fraser in an off-the-ball incident.
Referee Ian Restell and his assistant on that half of the pitch, Shaun Tobin, both missed the incident and, for a while, it looked as if Harford would escape punishment.
But Raymond Torczuk, the other linesman, intervened and advised Restell that Harford had committed a sending-off offence.
City boss Paul Bodin introduced reserve team youngsters Jamie Hughes and Sam Allison as second half substitutes.
But it was Walker, the third City substitute used, who wrapped up the win in the second minute of injury time.
Martin Paul headed on a corner from Bodin and Walker swept home a left-footed shot from six yards.
The only disappointing news for City last week was a double injury blow to defenders Mark Clode and Kevin Lloyd.
Clode suffered a knee injury in training, while an X-ray revealed that Lloyd has a cracked rib.
Bodin said: "Kevin's injury is one that you can't treat. He could be out for one week or three, we'll just have to wait and see."
