SOLICITOR Kevin Dobson will be trading his business suit for Lycra when he cycles 500km along the Nile to raise money for people with learning disabilities.
Mr Dobson, 42, who works for Goughs in New Road, Chippenham, has started his training by cycling to work from his home on the Pewsham estate.
He also cycles to visit clients, and pedals to Ford for his firm's weekly breakfast meeting. "My clients don't mind," he said. "They seem to think it is quite amusing."
Mr Dobson will join around a hundred cyclists in February for the eight day ride.
The route will take the cyclists from Luxor to Aswan, passsing historical landmarks such as the Temple of Edfu, Tutankhamun's tomb and the Aswan dam.
Mr Dobson, who is married with three children, has to raise at least £2,000 for Mencap.
He is asking colleagues to sponsor him but hopes to raise the largest proportion of the money by donating the fee from a client conveyancing sale and purchase.
"If anyone is looking for a conveyancing solicitor and would like to raise money for charity please contact me." Anyone who would like to sponsor Mr Dobson can contact him on (01249) 444499.
