DRIVER Brian Frost-Foster could be facing a jail sentence after admitting driving with almost four times the legal limit of alcohol.

Frost-Foster, 40, of Stirling Road, Market Lavington, appeared before Kennet magistrates in Devizes on Monday October 16.

Magistrates adjourned the case for social reports to be drawn up and warned him all options would be considered, including a custodial sentence.

Jane Warren, prosecuting, told the court that Frost-Foster was seen by police driving a red Rover car erratically along Broadway, Market Lavington, at 11.05pm on October 7.

Miss Warren said: "The Rover was veering across the road, and police stopped the car and spoke to the driver. They wanted to do a roadside breath test but the defendant was virtually unable to stand and he was arrested for being unfit to drive through drink or drugs."

A breath test carried out at the police station found he had 125 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath; the legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Julian Bailey, defending, said Frost-Foster was working between 70 and 80 hours a week at his self catering business in Bristol.

"He is devastated and he has expressed remorse to me. It appears he is not eating properly and his personal arrangements are not terribly satisfactory. He is a man who has reached the end of the road in more ways than one," Mr Bailey said.

"He has got a lot to say and wants to speak to somebody."

The case was adjourned to November 24 at Salisbury Crown Court. The magistrates imposed an interim driving ban until sentence has been passed.
