CLASSIC car owners from all over the country explored north Wiltshire's treasures this month.

The second North Wiltshire Discovery Tour was organised by the district council's economic development and tourism department to highlight some of the county's lesser-known beauty spots.

Starting from Corsham Court, the first day's route passed through Box to Colerne Airfield, then on to Castle Combe.

It then went on to Malmesbury, RAF Kemble, the Cotswold Water Park and Cricklade, before turning south to Hullavington.

Day two started at Bowood House, moving on through Calne, Lyneham and Wootton Bassett and on to Chippenham and Lacock before finishing at Corsham's Hartham Park.

Entrants were encouraged to find out more about the places they visited by answering a quiz.

Chippenham town councillors Karin and Richard Meeke and Ian Bridges and his wife Elaine, dressed up in period costume and welcomed the entrants at the town hall with half a dozen other councillors. Entrants had voted the town as the one which gave drivers the warmest welcome.
