PATIENTS in the Pewsey doctors' surgery can gaze at pastoral water meadows, crop circles and a village church in the Pewsey Vale without even having to leave the comfort of their seats, thanks to Bouverie Women's Institute.

The surgery in High Street has been presented with the large collage of local scenes.

It was originally designed and made by WI members in Pewsey for a craft exhibition last year.

Betty Peacock, who helped organise the making of the collage said: "It was made last year for the September craft festival in Devizes. It took us about a year to make.

"A lot of the work on the collage was done by members in my home."

The collage depicts rural scenes including Milton Lilbourne church, crop circles, a cottage in Alton Barnes and bluebells in West Woods.

The colourful Pewsey Vale collage is framed with a view of the River Avon.

Members who contributed to the ideas and who worked on the wall hanging included Mrs Peacock, Christine Blanchard, Sheila Tarrant, Joan Sheldon, Joyce Inge, Maureen Kirk and Pat Cooper.

Bouverie WI president June Paterson together with secretary Val Dunn formally presented the collage to Dr Jonathan Ring who received it on behalf of the partners at a special presentation this week.
