The Emerald Ensemble is offering a rare treat a concert with free admission for children.
Many members of the ensemble, a dozen of Britain's most talented young musicians are noted soloists on international platforms including the USA, Europe, South America, Saudi Arabia and Australia.
They are directed by Roger Huckle. His bid to bring high quality professional performances to community venues has had remarkable success.
Their lively, colourful presentation and musicianship delight audiences. Their performance is unusual in that most members of the ensemble stand up to perform.
"This gives them more freedom, and allows the audience better visibility," said a spokesman
Fun and sheer delight in music is the keynote of all their work, and they look forward to sharing these qualities at Wootton Bassett School on Friday, October 20, at 7.30pm.
The performance will include Alison Morris reading sonnets written by Vivaldi to accompany his compositions Autumn and Winter from The Four Seasons. It will also feature Vivaldi's Sopranino Recorder Concerto, Bach's Air on a G String, Brandenburg Concerto No 3, An Oboe Concerto by Albinoni and Pachelbel'sCanon.
Tickets for adults are £6.50 in advance from Occasions or Brian Taylor Music or £7.50 at the door.
