Salisbury 23 Ivel Barbarians 7: Against a team yet to record a victory this season, Salisbury made heavy weather of beating Ivel whose spoiling tactics proved so effective.
It took Salisbury 15 minutes to open the scoring with a penalty from Cameron. Five minutes later, stand-off James chipped over for centre Dave King to score. Cameron converted.
Almost on half time Cameron kicked a second penalty, only for Ivel to win their own re-start ball and run and chip through Salisbury's defence to close the half 13-7. The visitors re-started strongly and were unlucky to miss a penalty.
But then Salisbury's pack scrummaged Ivel off their own ball and suddenly the home team sparkled, recycling the ball through six phases before releasing the backs for Marden to score.
A final home surge, which put Marden over for his second try, finished the contest.
