Congratulations North Wiltshire District Council.
Last weekend my son James and I, together with 79 other classic car owners from all over the country, took part in the North Wiltshire Discovery Tour.
The council organised this as a showcase for north Wiltshire, its towns and attractions like the Abbey Gardens in Malmesbury and the Atwell Wilson Motor Museum in Calne as well as stately homes.
We had a great two days. In each town: Corsham, Malmesbury, Cricklade, Calne, Wootton Bassett and Chippenham, we were greeted and served refreshments by district councillors.
As a local it made me very proud to see the welcome we were given and the enthusiasm of my fellow entrants for our beautiful district.
Many had travelled many miles to get here, from Derbyshire in the north to the south coast and from East Anglia to West Wales.
A number had enjoyed themselves so much last year, that they were returning again.
Indeed, the event looks to be establishing itself as a "must do" in the classic car touring calendar.
So thank you to the the council and RPM Promotions.
We'll be back.
