A ladies football club has recently been formed in Chippenham, part of Chippenham Town Football Club, based at Hardenhuish Park.
The club fields two teams in a new Wiltshire Ladies League, and after five games has made an impressive start to the season.
The main aim of this first season will be to firmly establish the club, and provide the opportunity for all who want to play competitive ladies football, whilst retaining a club atmosphere which encourages those of all abilities.
To date we have been very fortunate with sponsors providing kit, indeed the team look resplendent in their away kit, sponsored by the Wiltshire Gazette and Herald.
Being able to field two teams in the first season has been a tremendous achievement, but to help ensure success we need a few more players to complete the two squads.
Remember Wembley last year? Well any ladies (over the age of 14) who would like to play football could also wear the famous blue and white of Chippenham Town (with thanks to our sponsors Richard Watkins Associates and Chippenham Borough Lands Trust), and on occasions have the opportunity to play on the Chippenham Town ground.
So if you would like to play football contact the team coach Steve Gingell (01249) 653776 or the chairman Sarah Willis on (01249) 444790 or myself on (01249) 661366.
Alternatively join in a training session at the Astro-turf on Friday evenings from 5.30pm to 6.30pm and see if football suits you.
