ON-LOAN striker Peter Varley helped Chippenham Town erase the memory of the disappointing home defeat by setting up the winning goal in the Premier Division game at Odd Down.
Varley, who has joined Chippenham on loan from Dr Martens League side Tiverton, broke away in the 65th minute and crossed for co-striker Dave Bright to smash the ball home from 12 yards.
Chippenham had been very disappointing in Saturday's shock home defeat by mid-table Barnstaple.
And to add to Chippenham's woes they had captain Lea James sent off in the second half.
The visitors were penned back in their own half for long periods, but broke out to score goal in the 14th minute, when some neat interplay ended with Ben Hayne scoring.
