TROWBRIDGE LEAGUE: RUDLOE'S 3-1 win at Deverills Reserves was enough to take them top in Division Three of the Trowbridge League (sponsored by Just Signs Trowbridge).

Paul Clarke put the home side ahead after 15 minutes. Simon Matthews hit an equaliser for Rudloe 10 minutes later.

Rudloe squandered a penalty chance before Matthews and Matthew Dancey secured the points with further goals.

Avon Bradford Reserves lost top spot as a result of a 0-0 draw at Bromham Reserves. In an even contest Bromham had the better of the first half with Avon coming back strongly after the break.

Chippenham Athletic won their first game of the season at Apetito. Bob Montieth put Athletic ahead only for the home side to take a 3-1 lead with goals from Ross Pugh, Dean Stevens and Simon Kitchen.

Chippenham were on level terms by the interval with goals from Darren Legg and Mike Deedigan. Martin Woolford snatched the winner for the visitors with the last kick of the match.

Foresters Arms moved into third place with a 6-3 win at Black Horse Devizes. Trevor Jones (2), Shane Thornton, Nathan Mantle (2) and Stuart Gregory scored for Arms. Black Horse replied with goals from Lloyd Sartain, Andy Webster and Johnathan Schofield.

Rowde Sports went ahead at Westbury United A with a 45-yard effort after 10 minutes. Kane Scott levelled for Westbury after 30 minutes. United brought on two substitute strikers, Hal Davis and Dave Percival who both scored to give Westbury a 3-1 winner.

In Division One two well taken goals from Matt Coles gave leaders Broughton Gifford a 2-0 win over Heytesbury.

Avon Bradford lost their unbeaten record when they went down 4-2 to Castle Combe West End. Adrian Evans put Avon ahead with a brilliant 20-yarder in 23 minutes.

Jamie Winks's penalty put Combe level, with James Pope and Ponting adding goals for the visitors.

Alan House pulled a goal back with a looping header from a Russell Francis corner.

The game was settled when Stuart Wilson deflected Ponting's shot in the 51st minute.

Deverills, runners-up last season, went down again in an excellent game at Bradford Town Reserves. Matt Cottrell and Andy Brooks gave Town a 2-0 lead before Danny Hargreaves pulled a goal back for Deverills.

Marc Lanfear's second hat-trick in consecutive games earned Bratton a narrow 3-2 win against Bradford United. Damien Fricker and Jason Uncles got United's goals.

Broughton Gifford Reserves' 4-3 win at Blue Circle maintained their 100 per cent record in Division Two. Gifford took the lead three times with goals from Richard Moules, Nick Bush and Richard Nash.

Blue Circle, despite being under pressure for large parts of the game, got level each time with goals from Dave Martin, Martin Hemmens and Liam Williams. Andy Joad snatched the winner for the league leaders.

James Burbedge (3), Tom Hopkins and Mike Bergnach gave Freshford United a 5-2 win at struggling Bradford United Reserves. Steve Lewin scored twice for Bradford.

A poor display by Hilperton United was punished by visitors Bratton. Martyn Thompson, Simon Dolbear and Jamie Bloor notched goals in a 3-0 win.

Steeple Ashton were always on top against Lavington and Easterton. Simon Hodges and an own goal gave Ashton a 2-0 lead inside 10 minutes

Steve Wells and Lee Wayward completed the 4-0 scoreline with goals in the second half.

Division Two Broughton Gifford Reserves and Setyres have been given the chance of causing upsets against Division One sides Bratton and Bradford United respectively.

Broughton Gifford travel to Melksham Town A while Hilperton United from Division Two face a trip to last season's beaten finalists Heytesbury.
