OLYMPIC gold medallist Stephanie Cook thrilled children at Hilperton Primary School when she made her first school visit after winning her medal in the Sydney Olympics.
Stephanie, who is based at Bath University, delighted the 160 children when she turned up at the Trowbridge school in her Great Britain team tracksuit with her fencing equipment and air pistol.
But best of all for the youngsters, she took along the gold medal she won in the modern pentathlon, for the children to see.
Head teacher Sue Haldane said: "The children were able to get up close to see it and she let them touch it.
"They had all prepared questions for her ranging from what she had for breakfast on the day she won the medal, to how she felt now it was all over.
"She spent the whole morning with us and met all the children."
