Football. Can't live with it, can't live without it.

At home to Barnstaple, we were desperately unlucky not to get something despite totally dominating the game. The players tried the best especially in the second half but we just couldn't get the goal that we needed.

I was very disappointed after the game but after a good heart-to-heart with my chairman Malcolm Lyus, I am more than ready for the challenges ahead.

Malcolm and my treasurer Richard Terrill have been nothing but a great support to me since I took over as manager two years ago. They know I hate losing and they are always there to get me going again, without their support, I wouldn't be doing the job and we would never have had the success we have had.

Let us not forget in my two full seasons we have finished third and fourth in the league, got to Wembley and won the Western League Cup. What short memories some people appear to have.

Apart from the result, I was disappointed with the reaction of a small minority of people who were only to keen to turn on me and my players after the defeat. The real supporters are the ones who give the lads everything in every game and even when things don't go well they are still there for the next game.

That takes me on nicely to our victory over Odd Down on Tuesday night. I would personally like to thank all our supporters (over 100) who made it to the game and really got behind the lads. The reception they gave me after the game really lifted my spirits and let me know they are pleased with the job that I am doing.

We still have Steve Tweddle, Lee Burns, and Steve Brown to come back into the squad and when John Woods and Kenny Hughes reach full fitness we will have an impressive squad.
