Evening Advertiser news editor and Bristol Rovers fan Mark Drew watched the game from the Stratton bank:
I thought Bristol Rovers looked comfortable throughout and well deserved the three points.
Although Swindon looked fairly sharp going forward in the first half they looked weak at the back and gave away three very soft goals.
It was a workmanlike display by Rovers after the break, when they hit cruise control instead of going forward in search of further goals.
Marcus Bignot was superb throughout, Trevor Challis had one of his better games for a while and Mark Walters was at his vintage best.
His strike from about 30 yards in the second half was worth the entrance money alone.
Fair play also to the Swindon fans in the Nationwide Stand, who never stopped cheering on their team despite such a poor first half.
In truth, I don't think they could have too many complaints about the final scoreline.
MATCH RATING: 7/10
MAN OF THE MATCH: Marcus Bignot
MOMENT OF THE MATCH: Mark Walters' effort that cannoned off the top of the crossbar.
