A treat for the children is chugging into STEAM, the Museum of the Great Western Railway, this half term week.
Thomas the Tank Engine will make his first appearance at the museum and the working steam loco will be joined by his friend Trevor the Traction Engine and Sir Topham Hatt, the Fat Con-troller.
The event includes displays and activities and a special Thomas competition trail inside the museum. Free rides on a mini train will also be available and there is a cafe and a gift shop.
Louisa Smith, from STEAM, said: "STEAM will be full of activity and excitement this half term and will be excellent fun for all the family, particularly for all of Thomas' young fans."
The event is this Saturday and Sunday, 11am to 5pm. Admission is £4.80 for adults and £3 for children and senior citizens.
A family ticket for two adults and two children is £13 and groups of more than 15 can claim a discount. Call Swindon 466655 for more information.
