Swindon & District League: Fusion were the surprise team of Division One this week, beating The Trailers 7-1.
Fusion's sharp-shooting men on target were Andy Wills (3), Des Carney (2), one of which was from 35 yards with his left foot, and Chris Smith (2).
In the Premier Division Clifton won a close game by the odd goal in five against Custom Homes, running out 3-2 winners. Their goals came from Smudger Smith and Wayne Tobin (2). Custom Homes goals were scored by Peter Collins.
PFC Shaftesbury beat Windmill 3-2, with their goals coming from Mark Walker, Dean Parsons and Dave Levett.
Goodheart found that Barron Heating were no easy pushovers, having to fight all the way for their 2-0 victory.
Division One action saw Lower Stratton win 5-1 over Jigsaw Group. Stratton's scorers were Dave Turnball (3) and Keith Gales (2). Jigsaw's reply came from Carl Parker.
Swindon Asians came to earth with a bump this week after their win against Premier opponents last week. This week the sporting Ramsbury outfit held them to a 2-2 draw. Allan Harvey scored Ramsbury's two with A Ali and K Miah the scorers for Swindon Asians.
Shield and Dagger are finding the going a lot tougher in the higher division, this time losing 4-1 to Nalgo Sports. Micky Warlow (2), Rich Clargo and I Barrett were the scorers.
In the final game in this division Spectrum were beaten 4-2 by the rejuvenated Liden Reserves, whose winners came from Rich Simpson (3) and Lee Richards. Spectrum's goals came from James Packer and Gareth Walton.
In Division Two Croft are certainly the in-form side at the moment, this week putting seven past Woolworth Covingham Hen, final score 7-1. Their goals were scored by Paul Harrod (2), Martin Grasspole (2), Ryan Turner, Scott Carter and James Monk.
Poor old Marshgate know how to score but are unable to stop their opponents scoring. This week they lost 4-2 against Westwood Contractors. Their scorers were Lee Giles and Matt Jones but Westwood's goals came from Sean Lewis (3) and Ian Marsh.
Swindon Eagles boasted the top score of the day in their 7-0 defeat of Lower Stratton Reserves. Gary Hogg struck five times, with one apiece for Stuart Hall and Martin Hyatt.
Bakers Stratton's scorers were Rich Rece and Ian Marsh in their 4-2 defeat by Moredon Gulag, whose scorers were Charles Edwards (2), Danny Murphy and Steve Wiltshire.
Finally Wheatsheaf and Pinehurst had a fine game finishing all square at 2-2. Gerry Ellis (2) scored for Wheatsheaf and Matt Webster (2) for Pinehurst.
Manor were made to fight all the way, coming from behind to beat Vicaima Athletic 4-3. M Leicester (2), Roger Theakstone and Dave Ellis scored for the Manor, J Franklin, L Harding and N Pritchard replying for Vicaima.
Jigsaw Reserves scored through Darren Kiss against Gorse Hill who were too strong for them and ran out 6-1 winners. Their scorers were Paul Rothwell (2), Darren Fernandes, Matt Packer and Jason Smith (2).
The other game in the division saw Bulldog defeating Highworth King and Queen 5-1. Bulldog scorers were Michael Riskin (3) and Tony White (2). Highworth's reply came from Ian McCarthy.
The Under 16's saw the new club Shrivenham and Watchfield Royals beaten 2-1 at home by Wootton Bassett.
Lydiard had to give second best to high flying AFC Wroughton who beat them 4-0.
Wroughton Juniors held a strong Stratton Crosslink to a 2-2 draw. Wroughton's scorers were Brett Armstrong and Ben Hathaway.
The only game in the Under 15's saw Robins overwhelm a sporting St Joseph's Boys outfit 13-1. Although St Joe's never stopped chasing, they were no match for the Robins.
