A BRAND new cash award for computers has been raised for Somervale School in Midsomer Norton by former pupils.
At the school reunion in July a fund was set up for the benefit of future generations in the area of information and computer technology (ICT).
Jim Bruce, one of the committee members who organised the reunion, invited those who attended the school 50 years ago to be at the special plaque presentation.
Trevor Bailey, Headmaster of Somervale School was presented with the plaque in memory of a much-loved former teacher, Colin Meadows and the cheque.
Mr Bailey said: "I'm delighted to honour the memory of Colin Meadows. The plaque will go in a prominent and important place.'
The cheque for £825 will help the school to reward and encourage pupils in ICT.
