TALENTED young students have written their way to success as runners-up in a national competition.
No fewer than four pupils from Prior Park College, Bath, have been praised for their entries in National Poetry Day.
Daniel Richards, Katie Edwards, Lucinda Peters and Siobhan Rogers managed to beat off competition from more than 6,500 young writers from all over the country.
Their work has now been published in the Somerset regional anthology Future Voices, and they were special guests during a reception at the Royal Festival Hall, London.
Nigel Tattersfield, head of English at Prior Park College, said: "The success of this talented quartet in such a prestigious competition is a real source of inspiration for other aspiring poets."
