BASINGSTOKE 5, BASSETT U14 17: WITH a greatly depleted side, Bassett, the current Dorset & Wilts champions claimed their third away win of the season.
This result, quite unlike the previous games, was firmly based on a near perfect forwards performance with the front row of Michael McGrady, Sean Warren and Adam Treadaway totally dominating their opposing numbers.
Bassett went ahead with a try from backrower Robert Peapell and got a second from second row Tom Fidler. Fullback Wayne Barrett converted.
Basingstoke, to their great credit, scored in the corner. But Bassett finally closed the game out in the second half with a try by second row Sean Davies.
