BOURNEMOUTH 3, W BASSETT 21: Bassett got back to winning form as they turned in their most impressive display so far this season.
They cruised to victory over a Bournemouth side who had had some reasonable results to their credit already this term.
Bournemouth took an early lead from a well struck penalty but Bassett's forwards then took complete control.
The Bassett front row of Dave Mason, Andrew Lock and veteran Tim Harrison took 12 strikes against the head during the game providing a platform for the sharp Bassett backs.
Recent signing number eight Keith Whittaker opened Bassett's account when he picked up a loose ball and crashed over. Fly half Neil James converted for Bassett to lead 7-3.
The score stayed at this until the second half despite several near misses as Bassett pounded the Bournemouth line.
The second period was all Bassett with the forwards securing good ball seemingly at will.
Early on centre John Hook was put into space and his pace left everyone in his wake. He fed fellow centre Mark Lewis and his final pass found man of the match flanker Gary Mander on hand to score. James again converted.
Later in the half, excellent defence enabled Bassett to counter attack and Lewis released John Hook to score with James adding his third conversion of afternoon.
After the match, Bassett coach Nick Cavill praised his side for an outstanding display.
