Top Irish fiddler David Duffy is bringing his band to Swindon next month.
David is a former child prodigy and an excellent singer and dancer. He plays nine musical instruments including the sax, piano and mandolin and his high octane energy spills into his stage show.
He plays vibrant Irish music varying from traditional to contemporary. This fast and furious fiddler has a band made up of his family including his twin brother Gerard on drums.
On keyboards, piano accordion and lead guitar is John, another brother. John is the all-Ireland champion accordion player.
Dad Gerry is the guitarist and they are all vocalists and mix their own harmonies with the melodic sounds from Ireland.
TV shows are commonplace to David Duffy and the band also tour regularly in Ireland, England, Scotland, Germany, Italy and the USA.
Dropping into Swindon as part of his UK tour David will be playing at the Thistle Hotel in Fleming Way on Saturday November 25 with doors opening at 8pm. There will be an exhibition of Irish dancing from the Celtic Academy or Irish dancing.
Any proceeds from the dance will be put towards the running of the Celtic Academy Swindon Feis which is at the Kingsdown School on January 27 and 28.
Tickets to see David Duffy are £6. Phone (01793) 642368 for information.
