THE community room at the Recreation Centre was transformed into a medieval banqueting hall recently.
Around 70 attended, dressed in colourful period costume. They enjoyed an evening of feast, followed by music and drama.
Authentic shields decorated the walls and the tables were decked out in greenery. The Lord High Chamberlain, John Williams, introduced the honoured guests with his usual dramatic skill.
Jester Rob Stredder and Ron Tanner as Father William entertained the audience during the interludes.
Medieval music was provided by the duo Companie Ho and during the evening travelling players from the Wroughton WADAMS entertained with a variety of acts.
This event concluded the Highworth Festival 2000 and proved to be very successful.
