ANXIOUS Tory Party members were last week bombarding the Devizes constituency office when they had not received their tickets to Thursday October 26 grand fundraising dinner at Marlborough College being attended by Tory leader William Hague.
The event is a sell-out, despite tickets costing £100 a head.
Five hundred people will fill Norwood Hall at the college this evening as part of a fundraising campaign to build up a fighting fund to contest marginal constituencies during the next General Election.
Local businesses approached to support the event by sponsoring tables of ten people for £1,000 were told the party needed to build up as fighting fund to help financially weaker party associations.
Earlier, Mr Hague will meet 300 supporters at Devizes Corn Exchange.
The Tory Party constituency office in Marlborough High Street was besieged by phone calls last Friday morning from concerned members who had not yet received their tickets.
They were assured that their tickets were in the post.
