CALNE'S second clearout day was such a success there are now plans to hold the event at least four times a year.
Bargain hunters took their pick of other people's unwanted goods at three collection points in the town on Sunday, October 22.
Town centre manager Mitch Roberts said: "It was brilliant. It really was busy at all the sites. The concept is definitely here to stay and the only question now is how often."
Mr Roberts said it was likely to become a quarterly event. "People here obviously like the concept," he said.
Sunday's clearout differed from the first event of its kind held in June, when people were invited to leave their unwanted items outside their doors, as they would do rubbish, which was only a limited success.
"I think it's part of the British reserve that people don't like leaving things out on the pavement for everyone to see," said Mr Roberts.
"This system worked much better but even then people still couldn't get their heads round the idea that everything was completely free."
