CALNE Town Council is sponsoring a theatre production based on the life and work of Martin Luther King.
The Dreamer explores his legacy through the eyes of a woman whose boyfriend dies in a racist attack.
The production, by The Watermill West Berkshire Playhouse, takes place in the town hall on Wednesday November 1 at 7.45pm, with a performance by African dance and drumming group Brekete in the interval as part of One World Week.
Town clerk Ann Kingdon said: "The town council decided to sponsor this because people from Calne have to travel quite some distance to get to the nearest theatre. If it is successful The Watermill would like to bring two professional productions a year out to Calne."
Tickets cost £4.50 and £2.50 for under-16s and are available from Bank House.
