ONE World Week organiser Derek Quinn hopes a week of events in Calne will help people see the bigger picture.
"The idea is to raise awareness that we are part of a larger world and have responsibilities to the other people in it," he said.
A week of events starts on Sunday October 29 including a series of workshops by the Brekete African Dance and Drumming Troupe, whose visit to Calne has been paid for by a £3,333 award from the National Lottery and £200 from North Wiltshire District Council.
Brekete will give workshops at all Calne schools starting on Tuesday, and a workshop open to adults and young people over 14 as well as a free evening concert at John Bentley School on Saturday.
Other activities include a pub quiz, a schools service, a concert and illustrated talks. For further details call (01249) 813367.
