GLYN Gough retired on Thursday after 18 years as grounds maintenance foreman for Wootton Bassett Town Council.
He has won a reputation for the town's superb floral displays and former councillor Eric Hodges praised the splendid way in which he has carried out all his duties.
The entire council endorsed the accolade and Mr Gough was presented with an inscribed mantle clock.
During Mr Gough's long service with the council, Wootton Bassett's reputation as a Britain in Bloom town has grown and it has gained several certificates, plus awards in the annual North Wiltshire Floral Festival.
His wife, Eileen, was presented with a bouquet by Mayor Bill Roberts
