THE Dome has bucked the national trend in Chippenham.
The town's tourist information centre has sold more National Express coach trips to the Dome than anywhere else in Britain.
Since the Dome opened on January 1, more than 200 people have booked the £30 day trips at the centre, double the number sold by Cardiff's tourist information centre.
On Monday the centre received an award from National Express in recognition of its achievement.
"The staff at Chippenham have worked hard to encourage sales and have done really well," said Nick Hughes, National Express regional sales manager.
The centre set up a poster campaign highlighting the trips and Mr Hughes said he thought that had been one reason for the high sales.
The day tickets are on sale from over 2,500 outlets nationwide, including bus depots and other tourist information centres.
North Wiltshire district councillor Duncan Bamford said: "The staff have done so well, I think they could sell ice creams to eskimos."
The National Express tickets will be on sale at the information centre, in Bath Road, Chippenham, until the Dome closes on December 31.
