Burton Albion 5 Salisbury City 0: Salisbury City suffered a pasting at the hands of Premier Division favourites Burton Albion.
Although the scoreline somewhat flattered the Staffordshire side, there can be no denying the sheer class of Nigel Clough's finely tuned outfit.
Yet for the opening 25 minutes it was the visitors in the driving seat with Tyronne Bowers in particular causing the home defenders all kinds of problems.
But City's dominance counted for nothing in the 26th minute when a rash Bond challenge brought Dale Anderson down in the box.
Aaron Webster made no mistake with the spot kick and his goal signalled the beginning of the end for City.
Burton increased their lead in the 65th minute when Starbuck scored from close range.
To say that Salisbury capitulated from here on in would be an understatement. Burton simply ran them ragged - netting three more in the closing 12 minutes.
Manager Geoff Butler said: "We huffed and puffed early on but the bottom line is we've lacked a bit of knowledge where it mattered most and they deserved their win."
