LEGENDARY football hard man Ron 'Chopper' Harris came to Salisbury - and demonstrated the art of a crunching tackle to thrilled schoolchildren.
The former Chelsea soccer star was at Chafyn Grove School as part of a coaching day for girls and boys aged between eight and 11.
The football training day was organised by new school groundsman Dave Syrett, who played professional football for Swindon and was on the receiving end of some of Chopper's ferocious tackles.
Ron Harris played more than 600 games for Chelsea during the '60s, '70s and '80s. As captain he lifted both the FA Cup and European Cup Winners Cup.
He now runs the Hunters Moon Hotel and Lodge in Warminster and is still a regular at Stamford Bridge for Chelsea home games. He is also a popular after-dinner speaker.
