A CASSETTE tape, describing a walk round Salisbury for blind and partially sighted people, will not only improve their quality of life, but their health as well.
That was the view of people who gathered in the Guildhall Square for the launch by Mayor Steve Fear of the Talk the Walk tape.
The tape has been scripted by Graham Mole and edited and produced by Bill Shepley, both of Salisbury College.
Mr Fear, himself a lecturer at the college, congratulated everyone involved in coming up with "such a worthwhile and important initiative".
Pete Bailey of Downton, who is visually impaired and was about to try out the walk, said that anything that helped improve quality of life and fitness was welcome.
"Everybody should do it," he said.
The tape is available free from the city's tourist information office.
