RIKKI HUNT insists Town should swallow their pride and re-install Jim Quinn as manager.

The ex-chairman believes Quinn should be given the job for the next ten years to provide the club with some much-needed stability.

And critically, Quinn has revealed his door would always be open for talks about a return to the County Ground.

The 40-year-old is currently playing on a non-contract basis for Conference side Hereford.

Quinn said: "I've got no hard feelings about my departure from Swindon and if they want to come and talk to me I would be happy to listen. I can understand why Mr Brady chose to get rid of me.

"When a new owner comes in he wants to bring in his own man, that's part and parcel of football."

Quinn, pictured above, admitted he was surprised by Todd's decision to walk out on Town.

"It's a strange one considering he has brought in such a lot of players and I am sure they will all be disappointed," Quinn said.

"But football is a cut-throat business. There's not much loyalty because of the way managers are treated.

"Clubs will sack managers at the drop of a hat, so if the chance comes along for a manager to step up then they are going to take it."

Mr Hunt said Town should go cap in hand to Quinn and beg him to complete the job he never got to finish following his dismissal in May.

"It sickens me that Colin Todd has walked out when the going has got tough," said Mr Hunt.

"But if anybody can retrieve the situation it's Jim Quinn. He would be great in that division because he has played for Peterborough and managed Reading so he knows what it's all about.

"I say go back to Jim Quinn and let him be the manager of Swindon Town for the next ten years."
